Through addiction one can taste true success; but that addiction must be of higher value, said Selva Thangam, Assistant Commissioner of Police.
COIBATORE, Dec 22 (The CONNECT) - As a stepping stone to curtail and prevent drug abuse amongst students, BVM Global Coimbatore organised an awareness programme - ‘Say no to drugs’ at its premises on the 19th of December, 2022.
Selva Thangam, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore was the chief guest.
The school’s students of classes 8 to 12 attended the programme.
He narrated instances from his childhood and the driving force that was pivotal in making him realise his goals.
“Addiction is essential. In fact, through addiction one can taste true success; but that addiction must be of higher value. By being addicted to learning, one can but flourish,” was his statement.
He motivated the children to have a balance at everything like eating, sleeping, playing and studying. The idea was to inseminate in students the ill effects of drug abuse by extolling the focus they must exercise on their studies. The session was rather lively and vicarious than a pedantic and drudging one.
