Outdoor Summer Camp Helps Poor Kids, Too

Over Eight hundred kids in the age group of 6 to 12 years participated in Hyderabad Runners initiative organised across 21 locations in the city.

HYDERABAD, June 12 (The CONNECT) - A Hyderabad Runners Initiative, an 8-week Outdoor Kids Summer Camp 2023 concluded with a 4km run yesterday.

Over Eight hundred kids in the age group of 6 to 12 years participated in the camp held 21 locations in Hyderabad such as public parks like KBR Park, and Botanical Garden and various large residential communities like PBEL City, Aparna and My Home Group residential complexes.

To promote physical literacy among needy kids this unique programme was also extended to kids in two  Government schools ---MGN School Filmnagar; NBT School Banjara Hills and Chotuu Ki Education (NGO) school in Miyapur and Jedimetla.

The programme, designed to foster outdoor physical activity, learning, and fun, proved to be a resounding success, leaving a positive impact on the participating children.

The kids were immersed in a variety of engaging activities, including outdoor games, sports, nature walks, team challenges, interactive workshops, and awareness campaigns with respect to civic sense toward a better tomorrow. The programme also focused  on nurturing mental well-being, and instilling values of resilience, teamwork and self-confidence.

Recognizing the importance of providing equal opportunities for all children, Hyderabad Runners have expanded the programme to include underprivileged kids who may not have access to such enriching experiences. Through this initiative, the organization aims to empower these children, inspire them to embrace an active lifestyle and create memorable summer moments.

A total of 150 underprivileged kids from Miyapur, Jeedimetla, Banjara Hills; Sheikpet govt/NGO-run schools participated in this program.  All kids were rewarded with T-shirts, Sports Shoes, and School Bags for attending the program.
