Nothing can beat the power of healing with love and care, Sudhir Chiplunkar, COO-LTMRHL, said

HYDERABAD, Aug 30 (The CONNECT) - On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited joined hands with Sparsh Hospice, a palliative care centre in the city, to raise awareness about the importance of comfort care during critical illnesses. The event held at Ameerpet Metro Station on August 30, 2023, was aimed at celebrating the spirit of Raksha Bandhan by extending care, compassion, and support to those in need, and creating an inclusive community.

A major highlight of the event was the thought-provoking skit performed by the Sparsh Hospice medical team, shedding light on the dispelling myths about palliative care that often surround it.

Adding a classical touch to the occasion, the nursing staff took to the stage with an Indian classical song and dance performance, serving as a poignant reminder of the warmth and compassion inherent in caregiving roles.

The event also featured interactive segments around palliative care such as selfie booth and spray-painting activities that motivated the audience to express their artistic talents.

Sudhir Chiplunkar, Chief Operating Officer, LTMRHL, said, “The festival of Raksha Bandhan extends way beyond the sibling bonds; it is also a reminder to express our kindness and care to those who are less fortunate than us.  As a responsible corporate entity, it is our proud privilege to collaborate with Sparsh Hospice on this auspicious occasion and extend the message of creating a more compassionate society to our metro commuters and public at large, as nothing can beat the power of healing with love and care.”

Suresh Reddy, Trustee, Sparsh Hospice remarked,At Sparsh Hospice, we have always embraced the power of collaboration. Today, as we celebrate the bond between siblings on Raksha Bandhan, we are grateful to L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd. for standing with us and spreading the message of empathy for those suffering from critical illnesses so that their end-of-life journey is marked with dignity, respect, care, and compassion that they thoroughly deserve.”
